Will I Live To See Gay Marriage Legalized In My Life Time?
I live in the USA (so called Land of the Free) and gay marriage is only legal in a few states.
Will I live to see all 50 states adopt gay marriage?
Me and my parents are planning on starting a petition to get gay marriage legalized in Kansas; will it happen?

I REALLY HOPE SO!!! i think it’s so lame that gay ppl can’t get married!!! It’s unconstitutional for them not to!! What happened to seperation of church and state! WTF america!!!!
I think so.
The majority of younger Americans have no problem with it.
We just need to wait a few more years for the older conservative voters to die off.
Even the ‘Bible Belt’ will change because younger people in those states are generally more liberal than their parents.
Also, you will see more and more State Courts ruling that marriage discrimination violates the state constitution, as happened in Iowa.
Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Kansas, Nebraska, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Utah = I don’t think those states will pass it ever, but I think the rest will, but then again look at California, If your in Kansas it doesn’t look to good.
Unfortunately, I believe you will see it legalized in the majority of the USA. Look at how fast the the New England states have done it.
Like another post said before, you may not see it very soon in the south. I live in Mississippi & I hope my state will never legalize gay marriage.
I have four homosexuals in my family. I love them all but do not condone their lifestyle.
I know I am in the minority but I trust GOD & we will all be judged by him. Everyone of us will.
“For the word of the cross is to those who are perishing foolishness,
but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18
Just a few years ago, I was quite sure that gay marriage was not going to be legalized in my lifetime (I’m 26) here in the “land of the free.”
But so far we have 6 states for it; I’m still convinced all 50 won’t be for it in my lifetime. Which is unfortunate to think that way, but I’m a realist and I know with certainty that our biggest problems are going to be the south….(where have I heard that before??Hmm)
I really do hope I’m wrong about all of this but I just don’t see it happening quite honestly.
Edit: If I hear one more comment about the president being black I’ll hit the roof. He is not black, he is mixed race. He is caucasian AND african-american. Why do people only see one side of him and ignore the other. He is this country’s first mixed-race president. Not too hard was it?!
It will eventually happen in every state, whether anybody likes it or not. Once we get Oklahoma, the biggest anti-gay state in America, then it’s time to take it to the Supreme Court, and it will automatically be legal in every state.
I should hope so
I never thought I’d live to see the day when it was legal in the UK
We’ve had it over three years now…. And if an old-fashioned country so consumed by tradition such as Britain can get it, why the hell can’t a modern country like America?
Fingers crossed!
You will most likely not live to see all 50 states accept gay marriage. You may get to see Kansas accept it, but currently there is a law banning gay marriages in Kansas. So I wish you luck with you petition.
slowly but surely change is happening..and i dont think it will take more than five years or so for it to be legal in majority of the states
I sincerely hope so!
Once we get 26 states to agree we have won the battle.
So your parents support?
I REALLY HOPE SO!!!
you lived long enough to see African American become President,,,,then there’s hope for the other right ..
no.
well that’s what i said about a black president ‘but
I doubt it, but I’ll support you all the way
i’m sure u will. things are really starting to change here now i believe.
- How long do you think you are going to live ??? If you are gay not very long… You will get some decease from your boyfriend … No we don’t need gays calling it marriage .. call it something else but not marriage.
– Marriage means a Man and a Woman joining together to make a family. Gay marriages needs to be outlaw.. !!!
