For Those Of You That Are Abstinent, Why Are You Saving Yourselves For Marriage?

Is it religion, or just because? I’m curious because I’m not planning on saving myself for marriage, but for a person I feel I could trust. I’m not planning on having sex anytime soon, perhaps during college, but I definitely don’t plan on saving myself for marriage. Maybe one day I’ll wake up and decide I will. It’s an open choice for me. Why are you saving yourselves for marriage? Couldn’t your spouse divorce or annul the marriage?

Why Is Marriage A Must Before Having Sex?

Marriage is just a legal document, in many other countries, marriage doesn’t even exist. Why in the USA do so many people think that you need to be married before entering a sexual, healthy relationship?

So What Exactly Happens If The Traditional Definition Of Marriage Is Not Protected?

We cannot allow gay marriage, not because of discrimination, but “to protect the traditional definition of marriage”.
So how exactly would the quality of life for Americans go down if the “traditional definition” of marriage is not protected. Would this effect the institution of marriage adversely? How?

I personally am waiting until marriage to have sex, for numerous reasons (not because of religion). Most of the time, I hear about girls/women waiting until marriage, I don’t hear much about men/guys waiting.
I get a little worried sometimes that I won’t be able to find a guy/man that will wait with me until marriage.
